The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has demanded a thorough investigation into the assault of a female employee by a manager at a Savings and Loans company in Nkawkaw, Eastern Region.
The call follows a viral video showing the assault.
The Ghana Police Service arrested Ayivor Elikplim on June 25 and arraigned him the next day, with sentencing deferred to July 2, 2024.
In a statement on June 28, the TUC condemned the attack, urging swift justice.
The Union emphasized that the assault violates fundamental workplace safety principles and ILO Convention 190, which seeks to eradicate workplace violence and harassment.
