'No flamboyant campaign like NDC did in 2016, ours will depict morals of Akufo-Addo' - Sammi Awuku

Every election year is filled with massive campaigns and other activities by the various political parties.

By now, the airwaves would have been filled with campaign songs by political parties especially the major ones; the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Huge billboards of various presidential candidates would have been mounted but for COVID-19.

The prevalence of coronavirus in the country has somehow 'silenced' the usual 'pomp and pageantry' that is associated with an election year.

The new normal is now 'door to door' campaign; which the NPP describes as 'retail campaign' and social media.

Speaking to this, National Organiser of the NPP, Sammi Awuku said his party is not going to be 'smart and strategic'.

"Our lives have changed; we need to be smart and strategic to reach the voter. We will not run an extravagant campaign; we will run a campaign that depicts the morals of our sitting President. We will not have a flashy flamboyant campaign like the NDC did in 2016," he said on 'Me Man Nti' programme on Neat FM.
