The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has issued a stern warning against the unauthorized use of military uniforms by civilians and private security personnel.
In a press release, GAF expressed concern over civilians wearing military attire during public events, protests, and illegal mining activities.
This practice, GAF stated, risks creating confusion, facilitating impersonation, and enabling criminal activities.
The military emphasized that such actions violate the National Liberation Council Decree of 1967, which prohibits non-military individuals from using military gear.
GAF pledged to arrest violators and urged the public to report any suspicious use of military uniforms, especially as the 2024 elections approach.
