North East: FDA destroys over 200 medical products

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in the North East Region has seized and destroyed over 200 medical products, including the commonly abused drug tramadol, in a crackdown on drug abuse.

The operation which involved local associations, investigative agencies, and other stakeholders, highlighted the collective effort needed to combat this issue.

Jacob Amoako Mensah emphasized the severe consequences of drug abuse, including potential criminal behavior.

The FDA's efforts included law enforcement, education, community engagement, and support services.

Mensah urged youth to avoid tramadol unless prescribed by doctors and thanked the associations and agencies involved in the operation.
