Patricia Appiagyei, MP for Asokwa, criticized John Dramani Mahama’s proposal for a 24-hour economy, calling it unrealistic and disconnected from Ghana’s job market.
Mahama’s plan aims to increase employment by implementing a three-shift system across businesses.
However, Appiagyei argued that not all businesses need to operate round-the-clock, and that without actual market demand, such a policy would be ineffective.
She stressed that economic growth requires more than just extended hours and called for practical solutions based on the realities of the job market in Ghana.
