Nana Obiri Boahen is heard in a leaked telephone conversation complaining bitterly about some happenings in the governing NPP and lamenting about being sidelined in the sharing of the national cake.

In the audio, Obiri Boahen is heard alleging that despite being faithful to the NPP even when they were in opposition, he is not benefiting like others are doing.

He among other things alleged that the presidency gave out GHc50 billion in support of the party’s Delegates conference held in 2017 in Cape Coast.

After being ‘bashed’ by several party members following the leaked audio, Obiri Boahen retracted his comments and rendered an unqualified apology to his party members for his unsavoury comments.



Touching on the issue on the ’21 minutes with KKB’ show, the Former Second Vice Chairman stated that apart from the GH¢50 billion claims by Nana Obiri Boahen, all other things he spoke about were issues that had been brought up similarly by other members of the party.

“I sit in this house, people come here all the time they talk about they not being minded, they not getting jobs, they being left out, people come for school fees, people come to be fed….all of those things are happening. People point to people who are riding cars and they have nothing,” Mr Crabbe noted.



The NPP National Chairmanship aspirant advised the Deputy General Secretary to own what he said by explaining that it was a private conversation and will never say that in public else it makes him a hypocrite.

Mr Crabbe says he will continue to voice out his views because he sees no reason why people should stop him from speaking his mind.

“Have I been gagged...Can you gag me...Nobody can gag me. If you say you’ve suspended me and I don’t agree with, can you gag me…?....who can gag me?... nobody can gag me. I can speak anywhere and anyhow I want to, you can't do anything to me” he said with confidence.



To him (Sammy Crabbe) Nana Obiri Boahen only reiterated the sentiments of the grassroots.

“It is more difficult when somehow you find yourself in a situation where you have sycophants too surrounding you, they will not initiate or do anything but as you go they will 'burn out'.”

“Sometimes you probably have to have a cabinet of rivals to achieve what you want to achieve, like what Abraham Lincoln did…….masterfully put them together like Kufour did.”
