The National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says Chairman Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has not received any official invitation from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
According to the National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyemfi, the unprofessionalism and bias nature of the Ghana Police must stop.
Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he maintained that the police has not contacted the National Chairman and that they find it strange such information is circulating in the media.
“I am putting it on record that our Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has not received any letter from the CID department," he said.
He therefore called on the media to be fair in their news reportage and stop being bias and playing double standards.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has invited the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo to assist in investigations.
According to a statement signed by the Deputy Director-General for the Director-General, ACP George Tweneboah, "The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has intercepted an audio message circulating in both traditional and social media on Wednesda, 27th February, 2019, in which you are alleged to have made some comments that have some security implications."
According to the letter, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo is expected to report at the CID headquarters on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 10am.
