The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) announced on October 9 that its members will not participate in Organised Labour’s strike against illegal mining scheduled for October 10.
In a statement, the GRNMA directed all nurses and midwives to remain at their posts and continue providing healthcare services.
While they expressed solidarity with other unions fighting against galamsey, they emphasized their commitment to patient care.
Similarly, the Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) also urged its members to stay on duty while supporting Organised Labour's cause.
Organised Labour's leadership is set to finalize their strike plans later today.
