In response to over 4,000 teenage pregnancies reported in the Oti Region from 2023 to August 2024, okada riders in Krachi East are being called upon to help combat the crisis.

This initiative, led by the Oti Regional Co-ordinating Council and supported by the Ministry of Gender and UNFPA, aims to leverage the riders' influence to educate youth on sexual health.

During a workshop in Dambai, officials highlighted the broader implications of teenage pregnancies, urging riders to promote available resources and support, and they expressed their commitment to guiding and educating young girls in their communities.
