The National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku has commended the leadership of the party for giving Gender Minister, Madam Otiko Djaba and the party's Northern Regional Chairman, Bugri Naabu a chance to be of good conduct.
Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Sammy Awuku addressed the concerns of the opposition NDC who has asked for the resignation of the Gender Minister and an investigation into the allegations by Bugri Naabu.
According to him, the two leaders appeared before the National Executive Council of the party and rendered an unqualified apology for their public gaffe and so he believes it is only fair for them to be pardoned by the government.
He noted that though the two misconducted themselves, the party leadership was of the view that this is the first time they have misbehaved and so found it prudent to place them on a bond of conduct.
They were asked to render an apology in public domain, Mr. Awuku added.
To him, so far as the NPP is concerned, the "matter is closed" but however asked any dissatisfied party to go to appropriate authorities to address their misgivings.
“It takes the greatest person on earth to apologize when he/she commits a wrongdoing. And I will salute Chairman Bugri and my dear sister, Madam Afisa. Sometimes, because of just rendering an apology, someone would become adamant and eventually fall. But when the person says I have regretted my actions and so forgive me, in all fairness, everybody deserves another chance,” he stressed.
