The Coalition of Unpaid Teachers and Arrears - Ghana is urging the Ghana Education Service (GES) to pay their overdue salaries, some delayed up to 16 months.
Over 4,000 teachers, hired in 2023, say they haven’t received payments due to administrative hold-ups.
Despite assurances from GES and a technical team set up to resolve salary issues, the teachers report no progress.
They have given the GES until November 18, 2024, to address their concerns, warning of potential further action if payments are not made.
