The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has reported that about 7,600 people died in road crashes from January to June 2024, primarily due to wrongful overtaking and ignoring traffic signs.
Pearl Adusu Sateckla, NRSA's Head of Public Relations, highlighted the severity of crashes resulting from overspeeding and head-on collisions, noting that 90% of drivers exceed speed limits.
In response, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ghana urged the government to form a committee to investigate recent accidents and publicize its findings.
