The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) has said reports attributed to the Committee alleging a certain diversion of oil revenues for the payment of salaries is false.
PIAC, a statutory body established by the Petroleum Revenue Management Act (PRMA) 2011 (Act 815) to monitor and evaluate compliance with the Act by the government and relevant institutions in the management and use of petroleum revenues, said it had not communicated any findings in that regard.
“We wish to state for the record, that, on no occasion has PIAC made any finding related to the diversion of oil revenue to pay salaries.”
The Committee, in a press statement, said it “wishes to dissociate itself from the said publication, in which Mr. Kwame Jantuah was erroneously cited as the “Vice Chairman” of PIAC.”
It also clarified that “Mr. Kwame Jantuah is no longer a member of the Committee.”
