Nana Yaa Jantuah, former Director of Public Relations and External Affairs at PURC, has expressed concerns about the commission's effectiveness due to politicization by the current government.
She believed President Akufo-Addo's support was crucial for PURC to carry out its regulatory duties.
Jantuah stressed the need for a load-shedding timetable to help consumers plan and urged ECG to adhere to PURC's advice.
She noted that PURC is not receiving the same level of support as it did under previous administrations, leading to its weakened state.
Jantuah's comments come amid an ongoing conflict between PURC and ECG over power sector issues.
