Parliament can’t probe allegations of murder against IGP – Kofi Bentil tells Atta Akyea

Kofi Bentil, legal representative of IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has criticized Parliament's special committee for investigating extrajudicial killing allegations against the IGP.

He asserted that such serious allegations, involving potential international implications, are beyond Parliament's jurisdiction and should not be handled by this committee.

Bentil responded to the committee Chairman Samuel Atta Akyea's refusal to sign the report, emphasizing that Atta Akyea's desire to implicate the IGP was inappropriate.

Bentil also expressed uncertainty about the Speaker's directive for the committee to reconvene, questioning the motives and potential scope of the continued investigation.
