Parliament must expedite Akosombo Dam Spillage probe – Ablakwa

Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has called for urgent action from Parliament to expedite its probe into the spillage of the Akosombo and Kpong dams, which led to the displacement of an estimated 30,000 people last year.

Ablakwa emphasized that despite debates and motions passed, parliamentary committees have yet to be set up to investigate the matter.

With the rainy season intensifying and fears of another spillage looming, Ablakwa stressed the need for swift action to learn from past incidents and make necessary recommendations to prevent future crises.
