2019-09-09Parliamentary Health Committee tours selected health facilities in Ashanti, Northern Regions

Parliaments Health Committee is currently on a three-day tour to some selected health facilities in the Ashanti and Northern Regions.
The delegation accompanied by some selected media houses is already on the second day of its tour which is expected to end Tuesday.

The project which is part of some seven hospitals to be constructed at a total cost of $175 million within 30 months of commencement still remains stalled with the exception of the Dodowa District hospital.
Revealing the cause behind the delay in completion of the projects, the District Chief Executive for Kumawu, Samuel Agyekum said government, through the Ministry of Health has had to conduct a forensic audit into the projects whose facility of $175 million was secured but couldn’t be accounted for upon the government’s assumption of office.
He however said the project is now set to continue with the forensic audit completed.
“God being so good, tomorrow, Kumawu District Hospital, Tuesday 10 September at 10am, the ministry of health, the ministry of finance and the NMS construction Company will be here to commence inspection and construction. Already you’ve seen that our men have started clearing the site, we are making sure that by the time they come we would have cleared a significant portion of the area.” He said
