Patients being turned away as strike at KATH’s Oncology Department continues

Doctors at the Oncology Department of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have escalated their strike over malfunctioning equipment, turning away new patients and refusing referrals.

The strike, which began on Monday, is a response to delays in repairing the Linear Accelerator, a device used for Radiotherapy services.

Existing patients are still receiving medication, but new cases are being referred to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

Patients and families are appealing to the government to intervene and provide the necessary resources to resolve the issue.
