Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), has rejected claims that the peace and outcome of elections rest solely on the EC Chairperson.
Addressing journalists in Accra, Dr. Asare urged the public to dismiss such ideas, even if suggested by prominent figures.
His remarks follow criticism from Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a senior NPP member, who labeled the EC as a significant threat to Ghana’s democracy, particularly criticizing the handling of voter transfers.
Dr. Asare emphasized that securing peaceful elections in 2024 is not the sole responsibility of the EC Chairperson.
