The Ashanti Regional Police Command has warned some aggrieved customers of the embattled gold trading company, Menzgold to suspend their planned demonstration on Tuesday.

The organisers may have turned down the invitation realising the intention of the police to postpone the demonstration.

The police had explained, “Based on that the Police Command invited the leaders of the group to hold a meeting with them, in order to make an arrangement for a new date to be fixed, since they did not follow due process as spelt out in the Public Order Act.

“Meanwhile the leaders of the ‘intended demonstrators’ turned down the invitation extended to them by the Police Command and insisted on embarking on the demonstration.”
