Police in control of security at Bimbilla

Police in the Northern Region are rejecting claims of looming security threats in Bimbilla.

This follows growing security concerns after the recent arrests of some persons at the Nakpa Naa’s palace for possessing guns.

The three suspects had violated curfew and fired shots in response to warning shots by soldiers patrolling the town to compel them to stop.

The soldiers managed to arrest them and placed in police custody.

Spokesperson for the Bimbilla Regent, Tahidu Osman Kikaa strongly believes the incident is a reflection of the security laxity on the part of the regional security authority as well as the Interior and Defence Ministries.

Bimbilla has been fraught with long-standing chieftaincy disputes between the two royal gates but the police maintain they are on top of security there.

ASP Mohammed Tanko who spoke to Class News' Blessed Sogah maintains the police are in control of issues and no chaos will be tolerated.
