Police, media not in competition; we have a common goal to serve the public – IGP

The Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare has emphasized that the Ghana Police Service and the media are not in competition but share a common goal of serving the people.

He highlighted the crucial roles both institutions play in sustaining and developing democracy, particularly in the context of elections.

Dr. Dampare also acknowledged the similar threats and dangers both the police and the media face in their work, and stressed the importance of owning up to mistakes and apologizing when necessary.
