The report continued that two other persons, Abdul Latif, 47, and Prosper Kokou, 27, were arrested by the police and are currently in custody.
In the meantime, the bodies of the slain suspects, the report added, are yet to be identified.
Additional information from graphic.com.gh states that among the three was a Cameroonian national who were intercepted by the police during an attempt to rob a businessman at Opeibea.
The Cameroonian has been identified as Akika Christian-Robert while the other two are yet to be identified, the report added.
Also, it is believed that this gang is behind other robbery incidents including an attack on a financial institution last December.
The police had been on the lookout for them and laid ambush this morning, following intelligence they received to that effect.
