President Nana Akufo-Addo launched the National Service Authority (NSA), marking a shift from the former National Service Scheme (NSS) to enhance youth development in Ghana.
The transformation, following the passage of the 2024 NSA Bill, aims to modernize operations, better preparing young people for national service and leadership roles.
At the Accra event themed "The Dawn of a New Era," Akufo-Addo highlighted the NSA's role in addressing youth unemployment through skills training, promoting civic responsibility, patriotism, and national cohesion. He urged a focus on key sectors like health, agriculture, and ICT, and pledged continued government support.
