Private schools warned against charging high fees

Begoro (E/R), Sept. 16, GNA- Mr D. M. Ankamah, District Director of Education for Fanteakwa, has warned that the Ghana Education Service will not compromise with private schools which charge exorbitant fees under the cover of providing quality education.

Mr Ankomah who was speaking at an open day and 14th anniversary of F'Eden Preparatory School at Begoro. called on private school proprietors to provide sufficient teaching and learning materials in their schools.

He asked parents not to shirk their responsibility towards the education of their wards to prevent them from indulging in truancy, teenage pregnancy, waywardness, drug abuse and other social vices.

The local manager of the school, Rev. Paul Atter Tetteh, commended the pioneering headteachers of the school for their hard work.
