Prosecute assaliants of Erastus Asare Donkor – GJA

The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has demanded the swift prosecution of those responsible for the assault on award-winning journalist Erastus Asare Donkor and his team from Multimedia Group.

The GJA condemned the attack and urged police to expedite arrests, calling for the immediate suspension of Edelmetallum Mining Resources Limited's operating license due to environmental concerns linked to illegal mining.

The incident occurred in Asumenya, Ashanti Region, where the journalists were investigating environmental damage.

Armed thugs reportedly attacked them, seizing their equipment and inflicting serious injuries. Three suspects have been arrested, and the GJA has praised police efforts but insists on further action against all involved.
