Pusiga District officer’s appointment terminated over unauthorized voter transfers – EC

The Electoral Commission (EC) has fired the Pusiga District Electoral Officer for conducting 38 unauthorized voter transfers.

The officer moved voters without their consent from polling stations in Tamale South and Sagnarigu constituencies to the Pusiga constituency in the Upper East Region.

The EC has reversed these transfers following NDC’s petition calling for a forensic audit of the voters register.

The EC insists the register’s integrity is intact and has rejected calls for an audit, stating that existing legal and administrative processes haven’t been fully utilized.

The EC has invited the NDC for further discussions to address their concerns.
