RTI Commission orders SSNIT to furnish it with Information requested by JoyNews within 14 Days

The Right to Information (RTI) Commission has instructed the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to provide information requested by JoyNews within 14 days.

JoyNews appealed against SSNIT's refusal to grant a Right to Information request regarding the sale of its stakes in several hotels.

The RTI Commission ruled that SSNIT must provide the requested information, except for the minutes of the board meetings.

JoyNews had sought information about SSNIT’s decision to divest 60% of its stake in six hotels, including details of meetings, firms bidding to be transaction advisors, financial proposals of shortlisted companies, and evidence of due diligence conducted.
