Organised Labour is demanding a total ban on small-scale mining and a state of emergency to tackle illegal mining (galamsey).

GNASSM emphasized the need for a collaborative, bipartisan approach to address the issue.

They called on the government to enforce existing laws, deploy personnel to protect water bodies, and revoke permits of companies not adhering to regulations in forest reserves.

GNASSM also offered support in curbing illegal mining activities.
