Remain at post until all issues are resolved – GTEC tells UCC Vice-Chancellor

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has directed Professor Johnson Nyarko Boampong to continue as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast while it investigates his termination.

The University’s governing council ended Boampong’s term on July 31, 2024, despite an alleged two-year extension.

GTEC states it has not received any official notice countering the extension and requires Boampong to stay in his role until the investigation concludes.

GTEC has also requested all relevant documents from the University regarding the renewal and termination by August 9, 2024, to ensure uninterrupted university management.
