The Ghana Health Service (GHS) is investigating a incident where a patient in her late 60s with broken legs and mental illness was allegedly dumped in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region.
The patient had been admitted to the Winneba Trauma Hospital for two months after an accident, but was reportedly carried out of the hospital in an ambulance and abandoned in the bush.
The hospital claimed they couldn't afford the GH₵9,000 admission fee for the Ankaful Hospital, which was the next step in her care.
The GHS has promised to take action against anyone found to have committed wrongdoing.
