SML owes GRA GH¢31.88m in taxes – KPMG Report

The KPMG report released by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo reveals that Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) owes the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) GH¢31.88 million in unpaid taxes and accrued interest for eight months of service provision.

The report indicates SML neglected its tax obligations between June 1, 2020, and August 31, 2023, failing to file returns or remit taxes. Despite GRA's demand for payment, SML has not settled its debts.

Following an investigation by The Fourth Estate uncovering contract irregularities, President Akufo-Addo commissioned KPMG for a comprehensive audit, leading to the suspension of SML's contracts and exposing further operational discrepancies.
