The Coalition of Students of the Schools of Hygiene is demanding the payment of their two-year unpaid trainee allowances, owed since January 2023, and a full year’s allowance for the 2021 Ho School of Hygiene certificate batch.

The students attribute the delay to a lack of financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance, as revealed by the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources.

Emmanuel Awuku, the Coalition’s General Secretary, highlighted the challenges faced by students and called for the posting of graduates yet to be deployed.

The students are threatening a demonstration if their demands are not met, expressing frustration over their exclusion from trainee allowances for the past two years.
