Scores siphon diesel from tanker truck at accident scene on Kumasi-Accra highway

Scores of community members swarmed an accident scene at Ohene-Nkwanta near Konongo on the Kumasi-Accra highway, forcefully opening a tanker truck and siphoning diesel despite police and military efforts to stop them.

The accident, involving a diesel tanker, a Toyota Camry, and a VIP bus, occurred around 7 am on Saturday, resulting in the Toyota Camry driver's death.

The tanker, carrying 36,000 liters of diesel, was headed to Kumasi. The truck driver and two others sustained injuries and were hospitalized. Authorities struggled to clear the scene and tow the vehicles.

The tanker's owner, Mohammed Zakaria, lamented the diesel theft as unfortunate.
