Tax analysts have raised concerns about the tax proposals from Ghana's two major political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Both parties plan to remove the Electronic Transaction Levy (E-levy) and the COVID-19 Levy, and reduce some port taxes, but critics, like Francis Timore Boi, warn this could jeopardize the IMF programme.

Boi noted that removing these levies, which are projected to generate about GH₵7.7 billion in 2025, without alternative revenue plans could disrupt fiscal stability.

He stressed the need for a robust budget that addresses potential revenue shortfalls.
