Toiletries and plastics manufacturing company, Shine Feel Company Limited located at Asutuare in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region, has donated assorted items to the Shai-Osudoku District Assembly ahead of their annual Farmers’ Day Celebrations.
The Managing Director of the Company, Mr. John Dziwornu donated the items on behalf of Shine Feel Company Limited as part of its social corporate responsibility towards the success of the celebrations.
Handing over the items, the Managing Director said the donation which included plastic chairs, acrylic paints, buckets, packs of toilet roll, packs of egg crates, bowls and an undisclosed amount of money formed part of their social corporate responsibility in support of the upcoming farmers’ day.
He further stated that, the items are to be given to both the overall best Farmer as well as other winners.
The District Assistant Director, Mr. Yaw Asante who received the items on behalf of the Assembly said, the Assembly was grateful to the Shine Feel Company for their annual support towards every Farmers’ Day as well as their support to the Assembly in many other areas.
He added that, he would hand over the items and also deliver the message to the District Chief Executive, Daniel Akuffo as part of Shine Feel Company’s support towards the Farmers Day as well as seeing to it that the winners who'll emerge at the event receive their items.
The 35th Edition of the National Farmers’ Day would be marked on Friday, 6th December, 2019 throughout the country.
This year’s event would be held under the theme: “Enhancing Small Scale Agriculture towards Agribusiness Development”.
The Farmers Day celebration, which was introduced by the erstwhile Provisional National Defence Council government in 1985, is aimed at recognising the vital role played by farmers and fishers in the country’s economy.
