Traditional and community leaders from Ada have taken their dispute with Electrochem Ghana Limited (EGL) to Parliament.
The conflict began after the government leased 41,000 acres of the Songhor Lagoon to EGL, resulting in violent clashes and fatalities among residents.
The Ada Terkerbiawe Divisional Queenmother, Naa Korleiki Korley I, and spokesperson Abraham Tetteh Karim testified that EGL has displaced many locals, taking over lands, farms, and cemeteries.
The Ranking Member on the Mines and Energy Committee, John Abdulai Jinapor, assured leaders that Parliament would address their grievances, aiming for a fair resolution.
