The new road traffic Legislative Instrument (L.I.) excludes the Speaker of Parliament and the Chief Justice from using sirens and motorcades.
Former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu criticized this omission, arguing that both officials should have these privileges due to their high-ranking positions.
Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin also expressed concern that the exclusion might hinder MPs in their duties.
Speaker Alban Bagbin urged MPs to defend their positions and take responsibility, emphasizing the need for assertive leadership in democracy.
