Speaker has betrayed me on a number of occasions – Afenyo-Markin

Alexander Afenyo-Markin has accused Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin of repeatedly betraying him, despite their private discussions.

Afenyo-Markin expressed frustration over Bagbin’s actions in the Chamber, claiming that although they have private conversations, the Speaker often does the opposite in public.

He noted that his predecessors, including Kyei Mensah and Haruna Iddrisu, had open disagreements with Bagbin, but he has chosen restraint.

However, the Speaker's declaration of four parliamentary seats vacant on October 18, 2024, was the breaking point for Afenyo-Markin, who felt ignored despite his civil approach in Parliament.
