The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced the deployment of covert and investigative operatives nationwide to monitor and curb election malpractices before, during, and after the December 2024 elections.
In its Half Yearly Report on July 11, 2024, the OSP warned vote counters at polling stations and collation centers to act with integrity, emphasizing that falsifying vote accounts is a serious offence.
Empowered by anti-corruption laws, the OSP aims to maintain election integrity and highlighted the severe penalties, including a seven-year voting ban, for those found guilty of influencing election outcomes through corrupt means.
