Sports Minister ‘pussyfooting’ on African Games financial report – Okudzeto Ablakwa

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, has criticized Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif for not providing financial details in his report on the 2023 African Games hosted by Ghana.

Ablakwa accused the Minister of evading accountability and emphasized Parliament's role in overseeing public expenditure.

He expressed concern over alleged overspending, including $48 million on operational expenses, calling for transparency and a full accounting of the Games' financials.

Despite Ghana's success at the Games, Ablakwa stressed the need for responsible financial management in such national undertakings.
