The Supreme Court will today, Thursday, May 5, rule on whether the Electoral Commission should go ahead and use the existing voters' register for the November polls or develop a new one, as being demanded by some political parties.
A former National Youth Organiser of the People’s National Convention, Abu Ramadan, filed the suit challenging the validity of the existing register.
He contends that the register is compromised and cannot be used for the 2016 general elections.
He wants the court to declare the register null and void and order a validation of all registered voters.
Meanwhile, the chairperson of the EC Charlotte Osei has indicated the readiness of the Commission to implement the ruling of the apex court of the land.
