The Supreme Court has dismissed Kenneth Kwabena Agyei Kuranchie's lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
Kuranchie, an independent parliamentary candidate, argued that the OSP's powers—such as arrest, detention, and seizure—were unlawful and sought to place these powers under the Attorney General's control.
He claimed that the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (ACT 957) violated several constitutional provisions. This was not his first attempt; he had previously filed a similar case, which he later discontinued.
The Supreme Court's dismissal reinforces the OSP's focus on its mandate without being distracted by legal challenges.
