Suspend Ofosu Ampofo as an Elder - Stephen Amoah to Church of Pentecost

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Mr. Stephen Amoah has called on the leadership of the Church of Pentecost to suspend its Elder (Officer) who is also the National Chairman of NDC, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo for allegedly making explosive comments.

The NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu has come under attack over his alleged leaked tape.

“As for the EC chair, we must wage a relentless war on this EC chair. Me, she doesn’t want to see my face,” Ofosu-Ampofo allegedly said at the meeting which took place after the Ayawaso by-election", he said.

As part of strategic communication plans for the NDC going into the 2020 elections, Ofosu-Ampofo also gave his blessings for the communicators to verbally attack the Peace Council chairman Professor Emmanuel Asante.

“For the first time, I will endorse insulting the National Peace Council Chair,” he said to cheers from the NDC Communicators.

"...You have Chief Azorka in my meeting saying, Chief thank you, I said why, he said if you had not taken this decision I don’t know how my men would have gone back to Tamale. The issue is that they had brought down the Kandahar Boys and the Kandahar boys know our boys from Tamale. You know it was a targeted attack and so once they spot you they invite them, and then around that time my people were so defenseless and they had packed themselves in pickups so cordon off and hounding them was very very easy and they had not anticipated all these things coming so it hasn’t been easy but for me how we take the battle from here is most critical.

But speaking on GHtoday on GHONE TV on Thursday, February 28, 2019, Mr. Amoah who is also a National Communications Team Member expressed his disappointment in Mr. Ofosu Ampofo for making such a statement.

He said Mr. Ampofo as an Elder of a church should know how to talk and added that morally, Mr. Ampofo was wrong.

He, therefore, used the platform to call on the leadership of The Church of Pentecost to suspend Mr. Ofosu Ampofo to serve as a deterrent to others.

He told the Church leadership to suspend Mr Ofosu Ampofo for two years.

"In fact I'm very disappointed in my uncle Elder Ofosu Ampofo for making such explosive comments and I was not expecting an Elder like him to go into that extend and I will call on the Leadership of The of Pentecost to suspend him for two years to serve as a deterrent because he has disgraced the church", he worried.

He continued to say that the NDC is more violent and he thanked God for exposing their evil plots against this country.

He prayed to God to protect Ghanaians especially children of this country from the NDC's plot to kidnap them for political expedience.

"I pray this morning on GHONE TV that God should protect all Ghanaian children from the hands of the NDC who have planned to kidnap them to win political power in 2020", he prayed.

He also seized the opportunity to appeal to Mr. Ofosu Ampofo to come out and apologize to Ghanaians and ask for forgiveness from God and promise not to repeat it again.

In a quick rebuttal, the NDC's Member of Parliament for South Dayi in the Volta Region, Lawyer Rockson-Nelson Etse Kwami Dafeamekpor reaffirmed his party position that the tape is fake and has been doctored.

He believed that as a Christian Mr. Ofosu Ampofo is will not make such explosive comments.

"The tape has been doctored by the NPP party because they have set up security gadgets at our national party office", he alleged.

He refuted claims that the NDC party is more violent and rather said the most violent political party in Ghana is the NDC.

Lawyer Rockson also said the NPP is not more religious than the NDC.

He alleged that the NPP government because they are not religious they have planned to scrap Religious and Moral Education subject from Basic School Curriculum.
