The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has criticized the lack of consultation on the proposed Free Senior High School Bill being discussed in Parliament.
They argue that teacher unions were not engaged in the process and oppose the Minister of Education's plan to separate Junior High School from Primary School and eliminate the BECE.
NAGRAT demands the bill's suspension for broader stakeholder input and urges the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education to reject it.
The bill aims to make the Free SHS policy binding on successive governments, preventing any future government from discontinuing it.
