Horace Ekow Ewusi has been indefinitely suspended by the NPP
A group of concerned chairpersons of the incumbent New Patriotic Party in the Central region have decried the recent suspension of the First Vice Chairman, Horace Ekow Ewusi, describing the act as illegal, mischievous and one which seem to settle a personal interest.

According to the group, prior to the suspension of the Vice-Chairperson, an announcement in the form of a threat was issued on the executives’ platform against Ekow Ewusi by the chairman, Robert Kutin, an act they maintained was unconstitutional since the subject had not been made to face the party’s disciplinary committee.
“The suspension was unilaterally first threatened and pronounced on the regional executives’ platform by the chairman, Robert Kutin, during some of his exchanges and writeups on the Regional Executive platform on 3rd July 2019. What was even more shocking was the blatant allegation by the regional Chairman to the effect that there are some national party authorities and powers protecting and shielding Ekow Ewusi from his criminal conduct. This allegation, we feel is most unfortunate, divisive, too personal and an affront to our National Executives”, part of the statement read.
The group further noted that the outburst and submissions from the regional chairman suggested that the suspension was premeditated.
“…to quote the Regional Chairman, “Take note that you are going to be suspended indefinitely and be referred to the disciplinary committee for your protectors at national to revoke such suspension. Don’t ever think that your influence on some national officers can be extended to our regional officers”. The above statement from the regional chairman suggests that his action against the first Vice-Chair was a premeditated one, and orchestrated to settle some interest.
They argued that the decision to send Mr Ewusi to the disciplinary committee was a unilateral one taken by the regional chairman which was a breach in the party’s constitution.
The group are, therefore, as a matter of urgency requesting the intervention of the party’s National Executives to calm nerves and resolve the matter.
