A second-year student at Christian Service University, Nana Boakye, has sustained a head injury after allegedly being assaulted by National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters in Kumasi.
The incident occurred during a public lecture by former President and NDC 2024 flagbearer John Mahama, marking the university's 50th anniversary.
Boakye, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) student organizer, retorted to Mahama's criticism of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's campaign, leading to a physical confrontation. Boakye was slapped and beaten by NDC supporters. Despite attempts to rescue him, party supporters broke into the office where he was kept.
The NPP in Ashanti Region expressed disappointment, and Boakye has not yet filed a police complaint.
