The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) has announced a nationwide strike starting Friday, September 20, 2024.
This follows the government's failure to meet their demands for improved working conditions, despite earlier protests and negotiations.
TEWU's statement highlights issues such as the delayed implementation of vehicle maintenance and off-campus allowances, as well as unpaid Tier Two pension deductions from January 2024.
They join the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana and the Federation of Senior Staff Association of Ghana in the strike action.
