TVET should lead Africa’s Industrialisation drive – Adutwum to African leaders

Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum emphasized the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for Africa's industrialization at the 2024 Africa Skills Week in Accra.

He highlighted TVET as crucial to President Akufo-Addo’s "Ghana Beyond Aid" vision, focusing on building a skilled workforce for economic independence.

Dr. Adutwum praised Ghana's Free TVET policy, which has boosted enrolment and transformed perceptions of vocational education.

He also called for stronger inter-African collaboration on skills development to tackle youth unemployment, stressing TVET’s role in driving innovation and economic growth across the continent.
