Starting July 1, fuel tanker drivers in Ghana will receive fair remunerations as per a new policy framework, resolving issues that led to their May 21 strike.
Francis M.K. Sallah, Deputy General Secretary of the General Transport Drivers and Chemical Workers Union, announced that the framework addresses drivers' compensation concerns comprehensively.
All stakeholders have agreed to the policy details.
By the end of June, data on tanker operators and assistants will be captured, ensuring timely payment of salaries and allowances.
This collaborative effort aims to improve working conditions and foster stability in the industry.
